Sen. Bingaman Introduces Bill to Forfeit Flood Insurance Policy Waiting Period for Wildfire Affected Private Properties

WASHINGTON, June 22 -- Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., has introduced legislation (S. 3320) to "authorize the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to waive the 30-day waiting period for flood insurance policies purchased for private properties affected by wildfire on Federal lands."

The bill was introduced on June 20 and was co-sponsored by Sen. Tom Udall, D-N.M.

The legislation was referred to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
