FAIRFAX, Va., June 5 -- The Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association issued the following news release:

NBIS, SC&RA's exclusively-endorsed business insurance and risk management provider, has committed $15,000 to the SC&R Foundation's named scholarship program. Beginning in 2013, NBIS will fund a $3,000 scholarship for five consecutive years.

"The SC&R Foundation scholarships are a vital part of retaining talent in the industry and contributing to the strength of the SC&RA membership," said NBIS President Bill Tepe. "At NBIS, one of our core values is to develop and encourage high-performance culture; we are proud to align our values with the Association and support the SC&R Foundation."

NBIS joins four other companies that have committed to the corporate named scholarship and grant program since it began last year: Terex($21,000), Southern Industrial Constructors/Southern Crane ($15,000), Bennett International Group($9,000) and Mammoet($9,000).

The scholarships are awarded to students preparing for careers related to transportation or construction management and grants go to employees or children pursuing classes at a vocational school or to further their education.
