Safeco Joins SeaPass Gateway

SEATTLE, July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Safeco Insurance (NYSE: SAF) announced
today that it is adding the SeaPass Hub Gateway Solution(TM) to its growing
list of options for independent agents to quote and issue policies more
quickly and efficiently. Safeco is partnering with SeaPass Solutions of New
York for the SeaPass multi-carrier, commercial lines Hub Gateway Solution(TM).

SeaPass Gateway web technology will enable independent insurance agents
marketing Safeco small business products (BOP, Workers Compensation,
Commercial Auto and Umbrella) to lock in quotes and operational support in
real time.
Agents enrolled with SeaPass use the Gateway as a comparative rater for
insurance applications processed directly from their agency management system.
In one transaction, agents will get a valid Safeco quote proposal for multiple
commercial product lines and the information is sent back to their agency
management system from Safeco.
While other carriers on the Gateway offer a "quick quote" feature, Safeco
is the first to offer a completed quote up front that can be locked in
instantly. Agents can make a quick and confident sale knowing the price is
firm.
