Some insurance consumers opt for dealing with a representative of the insurance company they’re targeting but others take the route of the independent insurance agent. On top of an unbiased opinion, the independent insurance agent also offers an expert opinion. A quality insurance agent of any kind should be able to answer any and all questions the consumer has regarding insurance.

Another positive aspect of dealing with the independent insurance agent is having a friend in arms. If the consumer ever has to file a claim, the independent insurance agent will be on their side throughout the claims process and will not have the conflict of interest that a representative agent for the insurance company might have. However, some look at this as a disadvantage because of the “middle man” or “third party” aspect of the independent insurance agent. This is a motion for the case that this type of agent is not for everyone.
