White Plains, NY – November 11th 2008 - David J. Walsh, president and CEO of Amalgamated Life Insurance announced the appointment of Leslie Bostic to the post of Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

In announcing the appointment, Mr. Walsh stated, “We welcome Ms. Bostic to Amalgamated Insurance at a time when our expansion and new staffing will benefit from her appreciable talent.”

Prior to joining Amalgamated Life, Ms. Bostic held senior management positions in human resources with Schering-Plough Corporation and SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance.  Prior to SBLI, she was with Prudential Financial as a Benefit Plan Reviewer and Annuity Consultant before becoming the Human Resource Director.  Ms. Bostic is responsible for all aspects of human resources, including training and development, performance management, recruiting, benefits and payroll administration.

Ms. Bostic has a BA in Economics and English & American Literature from Brown University and a MBA in Management from New York University.  She has served as a volunteer with the Newark Museum Council and as a mentor for WOMEN Unlimited, a national organization which cultivates leadership excellence in high potential women.
