American Logistics Company (ALC), a national passenger transportation management company that specializes in special needs transportation services for the healthcare industry, school districts and transit agencies, announced it has joined America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), a national trade association representing the healthcare industry.
ALC provides turnkey non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) solutions to health insurance plans across the United States.
In a release, ALC said its Coordinated Transportation Model leverages proprietary technologies to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and keep privacy concerns at bay, while supporting the delivery of transportation services that enable health plans to focus on what they do best -- providing healthcare services.
"At ALC, we believe that treatment begins with transportation, and when reliable transportation is provided by a healthcare organization to its members, the overall cost of healthcare can be reduced because of improved access to regular physician visits for check-ups, vaccines and other preventive care," said Craig Puckett, president, ALC. "We look forward to using our AHIP membership as a platform to communicate the value that a transportation benefit can provide to health insurance plans and their members."
